Gripping Power with Tapered Jaw Design

Rail Tongs can be used on all cranes for rail handling projects. They will lift any 39 foot "T" rail section up to and including 155 lb. rail by either the head or base. No adjustments are necessary to handle various sizes. Tongs are designed for lifting, not dragging. The anti-slip feature of the tongs is due to the sliding toggle action of the links when a rail is lifted. In this way the angularity of the toggle links is never less that 90 degrees with respect to each other.

1. All operators and support personnel shall read and fully understand manufacturer furnished operator’s manual, the latest applicable American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Safety Standards for Cranes, and any applicable federal, state, or local safety regulations before operating machine. Crane and load ratings comply with ANSI and Power Crane & Shovel Association (PCSA) Standards.
2. ALL “ON OUTRIGGER” lifts shall be made with outrigger beams retracted (8' stance) or fully extended (12' stance) and jacks extended to support and level machine.
3. Underlined load ratings are based on machine’s structural strength. All other ratings do not exceed 85% of tipping load on rail, or 80% of tipping on outriggers with machine stable on firm ground.
4. DO NOT EXCEED crane load ratings. When load radius or boom angle are between listed values, use the smaller load ratings. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TIP MACHINE TO DETERMINE ALLOWABLE LOADS.
